New Items for 2022

Each year we grow thousands of varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs and test lots of garden supplies and tools to find the top-performing plants and handiest helpers. This year we are excited to offer over 90 new products that we have found to be the best of the best!

Let’s take a look at a few of our new favorites:

Purple Zebra Tomato - 2022 AAS Edible – Vegetable Winner
(F1) 70 days. Purple Zebra’s green-streaked, deep red skin is the first indicator that this tomato is something special. Our trials tasters unanimously agreed that it’s the best tasting new tomato we've had in years. Long, vining, indeterminate plants are very disease resistant, and the fruit resists cracking. Available as seed and transplants.

Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry Pepper
(F1) 70-75 days. Just WOW! This little snacking pepper is as delicious as it looks, and its plant is pretty enough to fit right into the most stunning ornamental garden. Tasty at any stage, it’s sweet and crispy. The bushy plants are bedecked with vibrant, variegated foliage. Available as seed and transplants.

Bauer Lettuce - 2022 AAS Edible – Vegetable Winner
(OP) 55 days. Bauer joins our lettuce line up due to its amazing compact and dense heads! We love how substantial this lettuce is compared to the fragile and delicate texture of traditional oakleaf types.

Dario Squash
(F1) 50 days. Plan some space for Dario in your 2022 garden! Cocozelle zucchini are prized for their tender texture, sweet flavor, and high quality, even at larger sizes—Dario hits all these marks and more. The fruit still maintain excellent texture with minimal seed at 12 inches long!

Dragon’s Fire Arugula
(OP) 45-55 days. An exciting, new, wild variety with flaming red veins highlighting deeply lobed, dark green leaves. Dragon’s Fire spices up mixed salads with its contrasting color, shapely form, and delicious, zesty flavor. Crops are uniform and vigorous for year-round harvests.

Red Globe Cabbage
(F1) 76 days. This new cabbage is a beauty! An especially exciting twist on red cabbage, Red Globe’s 3-lb heads boast a remarkably vibrant, magenta color. Available as seed and transplants.

Damaun Corn
(OP) 80 days. Introducing the result of the world's first successful dehybridization of sh2 corn! This very exciting, biodynamically bred supersweet variety is unlike other OP sweet corns, since it retains its sweet flavor post-harvest. Vigorous plants produce very hefty ears packed with delicious, classic, yellow kernels.
